It's all there in the texts,
How Peter went wrong,
Floundering in the water,
Denying He must suffer,
And again at his trial,
Fleeing the cross.
Only the women stayed,
Some by the cross,
More at a distance.
They fed him in Galilee,
Followed him to Jerusalem,
And now visited the tomb.
It was to them He returned,
While they told the twelve,
Who promptly took charge.
Still the women wait
But Peter remains
In denial.
